<p>Spring of 2022 is around the corner. Here in Illinois it always takes a little longer. There's little ice left in Southport Marina, Kenosha, WI and it looks like an early April launch. But this time it won't be a "normal" launch. This will be our last launch in the Great Lakes. <\/p><p>For years we have been working towards this day. Learned how to sail, practiced for years in Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, Lake Erie and Lake Superior, looked for the 'perfect' boat that will be our home for as long as we will enjoy this new lifestyle, sold most everything we owned.<\/p><p>And now we're only a few weeks away from reaching our goal….living on S\/V MAKAAN and venturing out of the Great Lakes as far as wind and waves will take us.<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p>FrÁ¼hjahr 2022 steht vor der TÁ¼r. Hier in Illinois dauert es immer ein bisschen lÁ¤nger. In der Southport Marina in Kenosha, WI, ist nur noch wenig Eis auf dem Wasser, und es sieht so aus, als kÁ¶nnten wir das Boot Anfang April zu Wasser lassen. Aber dieses Mal wird es kein "normaler" Start sein. Es wird der Letzte auf den GroÁŸen Seen sein. <\/p><p>Seit Jahren haben wir auf diesen Tag hingearbeitet. Wir haben Segeln gelernt, jahrelang auf dem Michigan-, Huron-, Erie- und Superior-See geÁ¼bt, nach dem "perfekten" Boot gesucht, das so lange unser Zuhause sein wird, wie wir diesen neuen Lebensstil genieÁŸen werden, und fast alles verkauft, was wir besaÁŸen.<\/p><p>Und jetzt sind wir nur noch wenige Wochen davon entfernt, unser Ziel zu erreichen….auf der S\/V MAKAAN zu leben und uns aus den GroÁŸen Seen hinauszuwagen, so weit uns Wind und Wellen tragen werden.<\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
