We signed up for a mail forwarding service in Green Cove Springs and got our library card – after all, we'll have plenty of time and don't want to run out of books to read on our trip (or so we thought). <\/p>
We didn't have a lot of time for sightseeing left but drove up to St. Augustine, said to be the oldest city in the US and well-known for its Spanish Colonial architecture. <\/p>
<\/p>
Fast forward to November 28th and we are on our way to St. Augustine again. Only this time on our own boat which feels almost surreal. The sail there was a mere 38 miles from our last anchorage and was absolutely gorgeous!!!! We had winds from the west, 10-12 knots, beam reach, all sails set. Super smooth. Would have loved these conditions on one of our overnight sails instead of the bumpy ones we've had.<\/p>
We anchored in the Matanzas River with a great view of St. Augustine with its 17th century stone fortress Castillo de San Marcos. A beautiful spot to wait for a good weather window to continue south. Time there was spent with work, doing laundry, getting propane, going grocery shopping, baking Christmas cookies (after all, the first Advent Sunday was around the corner) and also enjoying the downtown area beautifully lit up for the holidays.<\/p>
<\/p>
<\/p>
<\/p>
<\/p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

Coming (mini) Full Circle<\/em><\/strong><\/p>
<\/p>
Back in May we went down to Florida to get our drivers license and establish residency there.
