Together with Arlo and his girlfriend Torri we toured the northeast coast for a day. We went to the Maracas lookout, which gave us a view of the coastline interspersed with some beautiful beaches. <\/p>
After walking through a bamboo forest, we took a hike to the Three Pools and enjoyed a refreshing dip in the cool water. <\/p>
The river plunges from a wide plateau over a steep escarpment to create three successive pools. There is a natural slide that acts as a passageway between the first and second pools. Of course we tested our skills by trying to swim against the current – quite successfully, but we didn't feel the need to experience the thrill of climbing the rocks and jumping twenty feet into the water.<\/p>
Throughout the day we stopped at three of Trinidad's most famous and beautiful beaches – Maracas, Las Cuevas and La Blanchisseuse – took long walks, went swimming in the pristine waters and ended the day in one of the many small beach bars. There we sampled a traditional "Shark&Bake", a traditional Trinidadian fast food dish consisting of fried flat bread, shark meat and other ingredients, such as tomatoes, onions and various sauces – basically their version of a burger. A glass of rum punch and a gorgeous sunset were the perfect ending of a perfect day in Trinidad!!!<\/p>
<\/p>
<\/p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

Trinidad – So Worth Visiting!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>
<\/p>
Trinidad is a beautiful island!
